1. FORMAT: Is your paper in the font of Times New Roman, size 12? Is your personal information in the
correct format with correct capitalization: Name, Class Info, Date, Assignment Name. Does each paragraph
begin with a 5-space indent? Is the paper double-spaced with no extra spacing? Is the essay left-justified? Do
page numbers have correct format?
2. TITLE: Is there a Title? Is the Title capitalized correctly? Is the Title centered on the page?
INTRODUCTION PARAGRAPH
3. Introduction background: Complete sentences that introduce the reader to the topic of parents preventing
negative effects of internet use on teenagers. Include reference to the three common parenting styles.
4. Thesis statement: The thesis statement should be the last sentence in the introduction paragraph. It should be
a complete sentence about the points of the essay, including which parenting style you believe is the most
effective in preventing negative consequences of internet use on teenagers.
