Media Assignment
In this assignment you will create an infographic about a topic in psychology. Infographics are visual
ways of organizing material and sources so a reader can develop a basic understanding of the topic.
Directions:
1. The REQUIRED topic is: Testing and Assessment in Psychology
SELECT Your Sub-Topic: Personality Intelligence Career/Occupational Psychological Disorders
Your infographic will be about the testing and assessment of the sub-topic you select.
2. Be sure to pay close attention to the following:
Before you get started, review the grading rubric (page 2) and example (page 3).
Stay on topic.
Use the “reverse pyramid” format, meaning move from general themes at the top to more specific
content at the bottom.
Be CONCISE in the presentation of the information.
Use 3 SCHOLARLY sources (Online Blinn Library Databases).
DO NOT COPY FROM EXISTING INFOGRAPHICS!
3. How do you create an infographic? There are a lot of ways to accomplish this – here are two. You
can start from scratch (more complicated) where you use a blank image file and create using images and
text. Remember you have access to the Microsoft Office Suite for free. I’m NOT referring to the online
applications – instead use the installed version (refer back to the course orientation). You can use a
free service like Canva.com or PiktoChart.com – do a search and find one that works for you. I am not
endorsing a specific service.
